MTH P&LE SW1500 Switcher
I was at a train sale over the weekend and as I was standing in line to checkout, this MTH PS2 Pittsburgh & Lake Erie SW1500 switcher was sitting on the table with a sticker on it that said “PS2!! $99”. It was all dusty and the handrails were bent, but I’ve been looking for…

Cannot add MTH PS2 engine to DCS – Engine Error
Just a quick note on a problem I had when attempting to add a new MTH PS2 engine to my DCS roster. I could hear the new engine’s insides “click” when I applied power to the track, and there were no lights or sounds so I was satisfied the engine heard the DCS watchdog signal…

DCS down for a while, Legacy up
A few days ago the Track Interface Unit (TIU) for my MTH DCS system stopped putting out the DCS signal to Fixed 1 Output. As it worked one day and not the next and the DCS system is only about a month old, I am assuming marginal electronics from the initial build. I had to…

MTH Premier Montana Rail Link SD45 Low Hood Diesel
I saw a review of this and had to have it. It is typical MTH Premier quality…smooth running at 2 scale mph, good puller…but diesel sounds are incredible! It has 8 rpm sound levels with the beefy speaker and loud volume that brings some awesome realism to the pike. I also picked up a couple…

Wiring cleanup for new MTH DCS System
After recently incorporating the MTH DCS remote system into my layout, I decided it was time to clean up the wiring too. I mounted the (2) 135-watt Lionel PowerHouses in parallel giving me about 15 amps in to the DCS TIU. I was told the fuses in the TIU can handle that, so hopefully nothing…

Bought an MTH DCS System today!
I’ve had Lionel Train Master Command Control (TMCC) since 1998, but have been undecided so far on MTH DCS or Lionel Legacy. Decided to go MTH DCS at this time because it also run my TMCC locos and I have no plans to buy Lionel Legacy engines right now.
